 Why do you boast of evil, you mighty man? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God? Your tongue plots destruction; it is like a sharpened razor, you who practice deceit. You love evil rather than good, falsehood rather than speaking the truth. You love every harmful word. O you deceitful tongue. (Psalm 52:1-4). God does not want us to be deceitful. He does not want us to plot evil against others. Each time we love evil rather than good, we GRIEVE the Holy Spirit. God does not want us to have a deceitful tongue. He doesn't want us to speak harmful words. What do we speak then as Christians? We speak words which heal, build, edify, encourage, strengthen, comfort; words which are full of faith; words which gives grace to those who hear them. God is very concerned about the words that the we speak: The Bible says this in Mathew 12:36-37: But I tell you that men will have to give an account on the day of judgement for every  CARELESS word they have ...

 Create in me a pure heart, O God, & renew a steadfast spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10). God wants us to have clean hearts & clean hands. He does not look at outward appearances as man does. He looks inwardly, in our innermost being. He looks at the condition of our hearts. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. The reverse is true. If our hearts are not pure, we will not see God. If we cannot see Him, it means we cannot walk with Him; even our prayers are detestable. God wants our lives to have the right spirit influencing them. What is this right spirit? He is the Holy Spirit & not a contrary spirit. If you are a  Christian, be filled with the Holy Spirit &  led by Him all the time. Have clean hands. God can save the one who is NOT innocent by the CLEANNESS of your hands.  These things you have done & I kept silent; you thought I was altogether like you. But I will rebuke you & accuse to your face. (Psalm 50:21). God is patient. He is not slow to act as some perceive slowness. He wants all men to come to repentance. There is joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine persons who need no repentance. So when we sin & He keeps silent, it doesn't mean that He is weak, or He is like us. God is not like man who lies. What He says, He will do. What He promises, He will fulfil. His delay does not mean denial. He gives us more chances & time to come to a point of realization & repent from dead works. But He will act one day in this age decisively.  He will not remain silent forever. On that day He will rebuke us & accuse us to our face.  My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the utterance from my heart will give understanding.  (Psalm 49:3). How do we get wisdom? I can think of four possible ways: * The word of wisdom is a spitual gift. The Holy Spirit  gives this gift to believers as He wills. (1 Corinthians 12:8). * You can ask God for it. God gives it to all without finding fault, but you must believe & not doubt. (James 1:5). * You get wisdom by exercising the fear of the Lord. Proverbs 9:10 a says: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. * You can get wisdom by walking with the wise.  (Proverbs  13:20). If you walk with the wise, you will grow wise. If you walk with a companion of fools, you will become one of the fools & suffers harm. Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. (Proverbs 12:18).  For this God is our God for ever & ever; He will be our guide even to the end. (Psalm 48:14). God Almighty, you have given us the Holy Spirit as our Helper & Comforter. He takes from you & passes on  to us. He never adds to your words or subtract from them. He is the Spirit of truth & says the truth about you all the time. He uses the Bible to change our lives, motives, focus, attitude & renew our minds. He inspired faithful men to write the Bible. In real terms, He is the author of the Bible. The Bible is the Word of God. It is life. It is Spirit. It is the Word of prophecy. It is our spiritual food, feed on it & you will not be spiritual malnourished.  God is our refuge & strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way & the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar & foam & the mountains quake with their surging.  (Psalm 46:1-3). God is our refuge & strength. He gives us maximum protection & security. He keeps us where satan cannot touch us. Someone may say: Why all this trouble? The answer is two fold. Firstly, it's you who is living in sin & paving way for the devil to influence you. God cannot intervene in your case because He respects your personal will. He created us as free moral beings. A Christian can have a demon if he wants. God will not stop you. He doesn't force anyone to do His will but we grieve the Holy Spirit when we sin wilfully. We render as useless the blood of Jesus.  You love righteousness & hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. (Psalm 45:7). The anointing makes the difference. It removes the burdens & destroy's the yokes. God wants us to be righteous. Righteousness EXALTS a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. Many Christians have joined the world in speaking negatively all the time about the poor state of their nations. As Christians, we can change that situation by seeking His righteousness. We can have peace by being righteous. If we are righteous, God will heal our land, & drug abuse & other problems will go. Church, whenever we face problems, know that God is the Answer or Solution. He wants us to be righteous, then He can heal our nations.  Send forth your light & your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to they place where you dwell. (Psalm 43:3). The sign that one is saved is the manifestation of the light of God in you. God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him, yet walk in the darkness, we lie & do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have FELLOWSHIP with one another, & the blood of Jesus His Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be Christians & yet we do not greet each other, we are still walking in darkness. If we are liars, crafty, etc, we are still in darkness; the light of God in us does not allow us to lie. Satan is not wise but crafty. There is a difference between wisdom & craftiness. Church, let us have a set time when we meet with God in His Word & in prayer daily. God respects such a time & shows up on time for fellowship with Him. We call this time - a QUIET TIME. I meet God daily at 05.00 am, (Central African time). This is my slot with Him & I am benefitting a lot from that appointment & FELLOWSHIP with Him.  Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the Lord delivers him in times of trouble. The Lord will protect him & preserve his life; He will bless him in the land & not surrender him to the desires of his foe. The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed & restore him from his bed of sickness. (Psalm 41:1-3). The one who has regards for the weak is highly favored by the Lord. When he gets into trouble, God will deliver him. He will give him maximum protection & security. He will preserve his life. He will keep him where satan cannot touch him. When he is sick, God will heal & deliver him. He sends His Word to heal & to deliver him. By way of testimony, I was sick for decades of years. The sicknesses were terrible & terminal. This sickness led me to being retired from formal employment early on medical grounds in 1998. I was aged 38 when I was retired on medical grounds.  I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me & heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud & mire; He set my feet on a rock & gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my life, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see & fear & put their trust in the Lord. (Psalm 40:1-3).  O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. For your arrows have pierced me, & your hand has come down upon me. Because of your wrath there is no health in my body; my bones have no soundness because of my sin. My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear.  Delight yourself in the Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him & He will do this: He will make your righteousness  shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. (Psalm 37:4-6). God has good plans for us, plans to prosper us & not to harm us. Plans to give us a bright future. He doesn't end there, He can give give us our heart's desires if we delight in Him. Put God first in everything that you do. Start the new day with Him. Have a specific time that you meet Him daily. He respects appointments. He will show up & have fellowship with you. Meet Him in His Word daily, preferably in your quiet time with Him as you start the day with Him. Give Him your life, your time & your resources daily. Why is it necessary to start the day with Him?  An oracle is within my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked. There is no fear of God before his eyes. For in his own eyes he flatters himself too much to detect or hate his sin. The words of his mouth are wicked & deceitful; he has ceased to be wise & to do good. Even on his bed he plots evil; he commits himself to a sinful course & does not reject what is wrong. (Psalm 36:1-4). God has given us a standard. His standard we find it in the Word of God.  Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him. Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to Him on the ten stringed lyre. Repentance means that we forsake our old way of life & walk in the newness of life with Christ. When we have made Christ as Lord & Saviour of our lives, change will take place in our lives & minds. The fruit of the Spirit will begin to increase in our lives. The glory of God will increase upon our lives. Health will increase.  You have not given me into the hands of the enemy, but have set my feet in a spacious place. (Psalm 31:8). God does not leave us or forsake us. He does not give us or surrender us in the hands of our enemies. Its impossible. He knows no defeat. He knows no failure. There is no problem that He cannot solve. Nothing is difficult with Him.  Ascribe to the Lord, O mighty ones, ascribe to the Lord glory due His name; worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness. (Psalm 29:1-2). God wants us to do total surrender to Him & total submission to His Word. He wants us to enthrone God's Word in our lives. Hear the Word, read it, study it, commit it to memory, meditate on it & obey its principles, or put it into practice. This is what makes us HOLY. By obeying God & His Word in total & not selectively, we become holy. Live by faith & not by sight, senses, feelings or logic. Fear not. Doubt not. Worry not, only believe God & His Word.  The Lord is my Light & my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?  Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have led a blameless life. I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. (Psalm 26:1). God wants us to live a blameless life. Jesus is coming for a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy & blameless.  (Ephesians 5:27). We may go to church yes, entertain ourselves in Christian religion, but all that is not going to make us go to Heaven in the age to come.  The Lord confides in those who fear Him; He makes His covenant known to them. (Psalm 25:14). The Lord has secrets.  The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
