Daily Devotional: Later I passed by, & when I looked at you & saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you & covered your nakedness. I gave you my SOLEMN OATH & entered into a COVENANT with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, & you became mine. (Ezekiel 16:8). Prayer: Father I thank you for Jesus. Thank you for accepting my fastings & for answering my prayers. In today's text we see an allegory of unfaithful Jerusalem. God sent Ezekiel to confront Jerusalem with her detestable practices. He reminded Israel of the state they were in when He found them. No one looked on Israel with pity. God saw them in a deplorable state & covered their nakedness, gave them a solemn oath & entered into covenant with them, but they remained unfaithful to Him. Father, we are in the same state as your church today. You have made great plans for each of us. You sent your Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for us, to deliver us from sin & death, to enable us to have a relationship with You God. The blood was shed on the cross. But today what do we do? We have chosen worldliness & have created Christian RELIGION. We did not end there: We have even brought worldliness in your church today. Lord Jesus, help us. Have mercy on us. Let your Holy Spirit convict us in regards to sin. Help us to repent of our sins. Do not destroy us, otherwise, the world will conclude that You failed to fulfil your promises that is why you have destroyed us. Restore us & your church. Bring about a great revival that will bring about power & glory in your church. I assign angels under our complement to act upon my prayers. In Jesus mighty name we pray, believe & give you thanks, Amen. Heaven Rules.
This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles. The Holy Spirit reminds us of Christ's words, activates our ...
