Daily Devotional: As for you, O house of Israel, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Go & serve your idols, every one of you. But afterward you will surely listen to me & no longer profane my holy name with your gifts & idols. (Ezekiel 20:39). Prayer: Father, I thank you for Jesus. Thank you for accepting my fastings & for answering my prayers. Thank you for today's text. You let Israel to go & serve their idols. This you did because they were rebellious & because you respected their will since you created us as free moral beings. I intercede for the church today. It is in the same predicament. We have profaned your holy name with our gifts & idols. In the Kingdom of God, position or placement is on the basis of gifting. But today we are using gifts to buy positions in the churches. Our inability to function in those positions is weakening the churches. God forbid. Bring about sanity in your church worldwide. Remove the love of money & material gifts in Jesus name. Place people in positions that God has already placed them by way of their gifts. I assign angels under our complement to act upon my prayers. In Jesus mighty name we pray, believe & give you thanks, Amen. Heaven Rules.
This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles.
