and say: Hear the Word of the Lord, O kings of Judah & people of Jerusalem. This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Listen, I am going to bring disaster on this place that will make the ears of everyone who hear of it tingle. For they have forsaken me & made this a place of foreign gods; they have burned sacrifices in it to gods that neither they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah ever knew, & they have filled this place with the blood of the innocent. (Jeremiah 19: 3-4). Prayer: Father, my Father, I thank you for Jesus. I believe that the Bible is: God talking to us. You have spoken to us in today's text. You have expressed your anger to us for making your house a den of robbers & for adulterating your Word. Have mercy on us. Let your mercy locate us & speak for us. We confess our sins & repent of them. Wash us by the blood of Jesus & purify us from all unrighteousness. Thank you for forgiving us & for relenting from taking this action. Holy Spirit, convict us in regards to sin, righteousness & judgement. Father I give you praise. Save souls today. In Jesus mighty name we pray, believe & give you thanks, Amen. Heaven Rules.
This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles.
