For the Lord gives wisdom, & from His mouth come knowledge & understanding. (Proverbs 2:6). God gives us wisdom if we ask Him for it.(James 1:5). Secondly, He gives the word of wisdom to some as a spiritual gift. (1 Corinthians 12:8). Thirdly, He gives us wisdom when we exercise the fear of the Lord. It is written: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. (Proverbs 9:10). Obey God & His Word daily & you will have wisdom. You will handle issues with great wisdom. When you speak, people will find wisdom in your words. You will not speak like a fool but like a wise person. Seek the wisdom of God, it is better than material wealth. With wisdom the light of God will come to you. Nations & kings will come to the brightness of the light of God upon you. People will follow you & enjoy listening to your wise words. You will have CHARACTER. Prayer: Father I thank you for Jesus. Thank you for always hearing & answering my prayers. As we have just entered into this new year, I pray that you give us wisdom from above. Remove earthly wisdom from our lives. Let your angels minister to our daily needs. This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles.
