As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17). God wants us to have relationships where we ENCOURAGE one another & not corrupt each other's character. The word: Encouragement is common but it is very key in Christianity. We go to church to encourage one another. We encourage one another toward love & good deeds. Prayer: Father I thank you for Jesus. King of kings & Lord of lords. Forgive us our sins today. Purify us from all unrighteousness. Father, help us to be people who encourage & not ones who lead others astray. I assign angels under our complement to minister to our needs. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen. Immanuel: God with us. This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles.
