You guide me with your counsel, & afterward you will take me into glory. (Psalm 73:24). God does not expect us to live this Christian life on our own. He does not leave us or forsake us. He gave us Christ to follow in His steps. After Christ ascended to Heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter & Helper. Note: The Holy Spirit deals with Christians only. He is not a spirit of the world. He cannot be received by the world. The world does not know Him. You need to be BORN of the Spirit, & then you can be FILLED by Him & LED by Him. God also gave us His Word to guide us. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to guide us, change our lives & renew our minds. The Bible is our standard or manual for daily living as Christians. Prayer: Father, guide us with your counsel. Help us to enthrone God's Word in our lives & obey it. Transform our lives & renew our minds. Open doors for us & grant us the right relationships. This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles.
