But you dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith & pray in the Holy Spirit. (Jude 1:20). How do we build ourselves up in the most holy faith? Firstly, accept Jesus Christ as Lord & Saviour of your life. Hear the Word, read it with prayer or study it. Do not read the Bible like a novel, the danger is you will know the stories written in it but you will not know the God behind those stories. Memorize the Word, ie, hide it in your heart so that you will not sin against God. Meditate on it day & night, ie, digest it. Obey its principles or apply the meditated portion of the Word to your life daily. Meditation brings deeper understanding. You will have good success & be prosperous. Secondly, pray in the Holy Spirit. To pray in the Holy Spirit means to pray in the power & strength of the Holy Spirit. Note: The Holy Spirit prays for us with groans that words cannot express. (Romans 8:26-27). How do we pray in the Holy Spirit? We pray according to the will of God. Where do we find His will? His is recorded in the Bible, Word of God. So to pray in the power & strength of the Holy Spirit, we pray the Word of God. The Word of God is life. It is Spirit. As you pray the Word by faith, you put life, & blessing into existence. You pray the Holy Spirit. The Bible says:  Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty or freedom. When you pray in the Holy Spirit, salvation reaches the lost, people are healed, delivered, blessed & protected. How do you cooperate with the Holy Spirit? By obeying God & His Word in total. What happens if we choose not to obey His Word even though we go to church? The Bible says: If anyone turns a deaf ear to the LAW,  (the Bible or Word), even his prayers are detestable.  (Proverbs 28:9). Here we are church. If we do not live according to the STANDARD of God, our prayers are detestable. They are an abomination before the Lord. We will just be making noise to God & busy entertaining ourselves.  Wilton, no one is perfect, are you saying that the prayers of all the people who are not living right with God are detestable. Yes, its not me saying this but the Word of God. That is the reason why our prayers are weak. They are not changing anything.  Instead of changing the world, it's the world that is changing the church. There is now more of the world in the church today than the church in the world. Prayer moves mountains. Prayer changes our circumstances. What are our prayers changing? What are we praying then if we can't push worldliness out of the church? The problem is not with God, it is with us. We are not true to God. We are mostly church goers & are not connected to Christ, thus the polarization, divisions, little groups, little kingdoms & empires in the church. What shall we do then? We need to REPENT, make peace with God, go back to your first love & do the will of God. Walk humbly with God. We have to remove FAKENESS from our lives & be TRUE to God. This way, our prayer lives will be fruitful. KNOW the Word. BELIEVE the Word. SPEAK the Word in general conversation. ABIDE in the Word. Your life will be characterized by faith, power, wisdom & revelation.  You will be a true worshipper, a warrior, a divine favorite & a divine champion.  Prayer: Father, remove FAKENESS from our lives as Christians. Give us the grace to be TRUE to You & to have lives which inspire others to get saved. We are BORN to REPRODUCE. We are saved to SAVE. (Jude 1:23). Help us to invest our lives in the lives of others. Help us to teach them how to walk with you, how to read, study & obey Your Word, how to pray & fast, how to engage in spiritual warfare, how to give our tithes, offerings, gifts, how to witness, lead someone to Christ & disciple them, how to testify & walk in dominion, how to walk by Spirit, how to meditate on the Word, how to live the Word, how to interpret the Word, etc. Make us effective Christians & vessels of honor.
