My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart. (Psalm 7:10). God is interested in the condition of our hearts. The Bible says: Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God. (see Mathew 5:8).The reverse is true: If our hearts are not pure, we will not see Him. If we can't see Him, it means that we cannot walk with Him. Two cannot walk together unless they agree. God has set His condition: To walk humbly with Him, be pure in heart. There is no other way. God wants us to be humble & gentle in heart. (see Mathew 11:29). The Bible says: Humility comes before honor. Pride comes before a fall. God wants us to be gentle & humble in heart. His Spirit is a gentle Spirit, that is the reason why He was given a symbol of a dove - a gentle bird. Note: The Holy Spirit does not force us to be led by Him. He respects our personal will. He knows that we were created as free moral beings. We have to avail ourselves to His leadings & promptings. He uses the Word of God to transform our lives, change our attitudes, focus, motives & renew our minds. God wants us to have broken & contrite hearts. Brokenness is key in Christianity though its a RARE virtue in today's church. This is largely due to the fact that we have created Christian RELIGION. Christianity is not a religion. It is a RELATIONSHIP with God through Christ. You find Brokenness among true Christians only. What is religion? It is a mixture of God's laws & man made rules Man made rules are made weightier over the commands of God. How do we handle this scenario? Where the rules of your local church are in direct conflict with the Word of God, i urge you to follow the Word of God. God is Supreme. He is our Creator & we are His creation. The created cannot rule over its Creator. Note: Humility & Brokenness go hand in hand. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. (see 1 Samuel 16:7). He looks at the condition of your heart. How is your heart before God? Why does He value the heart more? Because it is a STORAGE tank of both the good & the bad. We speak from the abundance of the heart. The Bible says: For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, & the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored in him. (see Mathew 12:34b -35). The heart is a STORAGE tank. Guard what you deposit in your heart. Why? You will speak it. I always say that in Christianity, there is nothing like I was joking. Why? Because what we speak comes from our hearts. Words reveal character. Words reveal what is in our hearts. There is no question there. How can we make our hearts submit to the will of God? Fill your heart & mind with the Word of God. Set your heart & mind on things in Heaven above & not on earthly things. Set your eyes on Jesus. He is the author & finisher of our faith. Enthrone God's Word in your life. Pray His will in faith & continually. Be a Christian in heart & not a Christian outwardly. Be a pastor in heart & not a pastor in the office. Prayer: Father, help us to align our lives to Your Word. Help us to align our words to Your Word. Help us to have pure hearts. In Jesus mighty name we pray & believe, Amen. Good morning Holy Spirit. Heaven Rules.
This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles. The Holy Spirit reminds us of Christ's words, activates our ...
