Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny himself, take up his cross & follow me. (Mathew 16:24). Christianity starts with an attitude of self denial. Self denial means to remove yourself from the driving seat of your life & let Christ to control you. If you get this right from the beginning, you will not struggle to live a true Christian life. You will not struggle to humble yourself before both God & men. You will not struggle to do the will of God. Most Christians struggle to be true to God because they did not start their Christian life with self denial. Mathew 16:24 is where Christian life starts. If you miss it, you will live a compromised Christian life. You will have pride, being unloving, unforgiving, jealousy, etc. After denying self, you will proceed to the next stage, that of taking up your cross. On the cross there is opposition, pain, suffering, mockings, beatings, being called out names, people gossiping about you, people seeking to destroy your reputation because of jealousy or threatened by your  anointing, etc. Because you have handed total control of your life to Jesus, you will find it easy to endure hardships, persevere in your challenges, & carry your cross no matter what comes your way. No amount of  pressure will cause you to alter your confession of Christ. In fact, you will become very bold, courageous & proclaim the Gospel amid much opposition. You will live by faith & be righteous. God will credit your faith in Jesus Christ as righteousness. You will be enabled to follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ because of faith & obedience. Jesus has left an example for us to follow in His steps. He has given us the Word of God, & the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is our standard as Christians. It is the written Word. Jesus Christ is the living Word. The Holy Spirit is our Helper & Comforter. We were not left as orphans, we have the Holy Spirit to lead us in the way everlasting, to teach us, transform our lives, etc. Let us be devoted to prayer & to the Word of God. Read the Word DEVOTIONALLY, study it, hide it in your heart so that you will not sin against God; digest it & obey its principles. This way, your faith will be strengthened & you will believe God for greater or BIG things Your faith will overcome sin, satan & the world. It will move mountains, shut the mouths of the lions, quench ALL the fiery missiles of the enemy, etc. Faith forms the basis of the Kingdom of God. Without faith, you cannot receive anything from God. You cannot please God. God honors faith the most. Prayer: Father, I pray that you give us a revelation on Mathew 16:24. Help us to deny SELF & to give total control of our lives to Jesus. I believe that Christianity starts with an attitude of SELF DENIAL. Help us to have lives which inspire others to get saved & to be true to God. Thank you Jesus for hearing & answering my prayer. Put your angels to action. Christianity is about a changed life. What is Christianity? It is a relationship with God through His holy Son, Jesus Christ.
