Come to Me all you who are weary & burdened, & I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you & learn from Me, for I am gentle & humble in heart, & you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy & my burden is light. (Mathew 11: 28-30). God wants us to have peace & rest. He wants our yoke to be easy & our burdens light. How do we get peace & joy? We get it by focusing on Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God, the Messiah, the Prince of peace. Some think that by just being members of an organizational church, they can have peace or rest. Others think that by putting on organizational church uniform that they can have peace or rest. No, it doesn't work that way. Satan has his own people there. In fact there is more of the world in most churches than the church in the world. The Bible says: Those whose desire is to live a Godly life shall suffer persecution.  People are killing others spiritually thinking that they are offering God a service. This they will do because they have not known Christ. Yes they are in the church system  but they are not in Christ. They are not connected to God through Christ. They are just members of a church organization. The Bible says: satan  masquerades himself an angel of light. Even his servants masquerades themselves as servants of righteousness. They QUOTE Scriptures but they do not LIVE Scriptures. This is how worldliness has found its way into the church system today. Satan has his own people whom he has planted in the churches to persecute those who are true to God & to deceive even the elect. His people you will find them in all levels from pastors down to ushers. So how can you get rest then? Connect yourself to God through Christ, be humble & gentle in heart, you will have peace or rest. You will not worry about anything  because you will pray to God about everything. Christ's peace is different from the world's peace. Even in the middle of storms, you will have that peace & joy. You will remain still & restful. In the world, you have peace when all is well, but when storms come, you lose it & panic & even get confused & worrisome. How do you become humble & gentle in heart? Be devoted to prayer & to the Word of God. What do you pray? You pray the Word of God or His will in FAITH. This is the kind of prayer that God answers.  You hear the Word, read it, study it, memorize it, meditate on it & obey it in total. This way, you will become humble & gentle in heart. You will have brokenness.  Brokenness is key but it is a rare virtue among both Christians & ministers today. Let us have a broken & contrite heart like king David, a man after God's heart. Let us deal with sin in our lives head on. The Lord will surround us with His favor. We will have true rest as we serve God with a whole heart & a willing mind; & as we worship Him in spirit & in truth. Prayer:  Father, I pray that you give us inner peace & comfort as we go through persecution from even the elect, the ones whom we love the most. Give us your kind of rest. Give us the grace to remain still & praise You amid much opposition. Let your favor surround us. Let your favor speak for us. Prepare a table for us before our enemies.
