About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice: Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachathani? - which means: My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me? (Mathew 27:46). By saying these words, Jesus was quoting the first line of Psalm 22 - a deep expression of the anguish He felt when He took on the sins of the world, which caused Him to be separated from His Father. This was what Jesus dreaded as He prayed to God in the garden to take the cup from Him. (Mathew 26:39). The physical agony was horrible, but even worse was the period of spiritual separation from God. Jesus suffered His double death so that we would never have to experience eternal separation from God. Christ's death was accompanied by at least four miraculous events: darkness, the tearing into two of the curtain in the temple; an earthquake, & dead people rising from their tombs. (see Mathew 27:52-53). Jesus death, therefore, could not have gone unnoticed. Everyone knew something significant had happened. 1. Jesus went through a very painful death on the cross for us. He knew no sin but He carried our sins to the cross, so that we would never struggle with it again. He was tortured to the extent that His appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man & His form marred beyond human likeness. He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him. Jesus carried our sins to the cross & gave us His righteousness. This is the Great Exchange. Through the cross, He also purchased healing for us. By His stripes we are healed. Not only that, we can infact enjoy divine health now, if we obey God & His Word in total & consistently. 3. He became poor so that through His poverty we might become rich. Thus, it is not Scriptural for Christians to remain in poverty. God wants us to have more than enough. He is a God of more than enough. How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? Prayer: Father, save souls today. Heal people  today. Deliver people today. Remove poverty from our lives in Jesus name. Remove any form of lack or limitations from our lives in Jesus name. Fill us with your faith, power, wisdom & revelation.  Perform extraordinary miracles by our hands, enabling us to win uncountable souls in the process. Let Jesus increase in our lives & let self reduce. Give us the grace to live holy lives. Thank you Jesus for hearing & answering my prayer. Put your angels to action.  In Jesus mighty name we pray & believe, Amen.  Peace be with you.
