Jesus called His disciples to Him & said: I have compassion for these people; they have already been with Me three days & have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way. (Mathew 15:32). The God of the Bible is our Creator. He is the Most High God. He is a compassionate God. We see His compassionate work in the life & ministry of Jesus Christ. In this text we note that He had been with the people for three days & felt compassion for them. He felt what they were feeling & decided to give them something to eat. He would not let them go while being hungry. This is a great lesson to which if we master it, we will impact on the communities for Jesus. Jesus showed them God's love. He put a small on their faces. He demonstrated what true Christianity is; what Bible based faith is. It works through love. Love looks for someone to help. Faith without works of God's mercy is dead. Jesus' character which He showed here was not coincidental; it was not for that day only. It was His everyday character; His lifestyle. Each time Jesus saw the crowds, He had compassion on them. (Mathew 9:35). We can learn something from Jesus's character & ministry. God is compassionate. Jesus, His Son, took over the nature of His Father & was also full of compassion. We, as His children, & servants of God, ought to imitate our commander in chief, Jesus Christ, & be compassionate as well. Why does God bless us? He blesses us so that we bless others. So that we are a blessing to others. Church, i urge you to help out the poor & needy, the widows, orphans, aged, inmates, the sick, child headed families, etc. Help out to meet needs in the church, in our families, communities, nations, etc. Do so in love, humility, simplicity & for the glory of God. What good is it if we claim to have faith but have no deeds? Can such faith save us? Suppose if a brother or sister has no clothes or daily food & one of you says: Go in peace, keep warm & well fed, but does NOTHING about their physical needs. What good is that? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by deeds, it is dead. Let us be believers who are moved inside our hearts when we come across needy people or desperate situations. Let us take after the nature of God & be compassionate. This way, we will distingush ourselves from those in religion. Our miracles will come from a compassionate heart, a heart that is tender & responds to the Word of God. We will cooperate with the Holy Spirit & do great exploits for God. We will feel what others are feeling & do something about that situation in love, humility, & for the glory of God. We will not be stingy anymore, but generous. The wisdom of God will guide us in our giving. Love & humility is key when serving others in Christ. Prayer: Father, thank you for Jesus. Give us a compassionate heart. A heart that is tender & responds to the Word of God. Fill us with your love, joy & peace. Thank you for hearing & answering my prayer. Put your angels to action. In Jesus mighty name we pray & believe, Amen. Good morning Holy Spirit. Heaven Rules.
This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles. The Holy Spirit reminds us of Christ's words, activates our ...
