But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him. My son, the father said: You are always with me, & everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate & be glad, because this brother of yours was dead & is alive again; he was lost & is found. (Luke 15:30-32). In this parable of the lost son, the father's response is contrasted with the older brother's. The father forgave because he was filled with love. The son refused because he was bitter about the injustice of it all. His resentment rendered him just as lost to the father's love as his younger brother had been. Don't let anything keep you from forgiving anyone. If you are refusing to forgive people, you are missing a wonderful opportunity to experience joy & share it with others. Make your joy grow; forgive somebody who has hurt you. From this parable we see that the father was able to forgive because he was filled with love. The Bible says: Love covers over a multitude of sins. Forgiving others becomes very simple, very easy thing to do, if you are very loving.  You will not struggle to forgive if you are a loving person. The other point that I have noted from this parable is that the father saw that his son was dead & is alive again; he was lost & is found. If we realize this, we will find it easy to forgive. We will celebrate & be glad that our offenders have come to their senses; that they have repented. Folks, I urge you to forgive your offenders. It doesn't matter what they have done & how deep the cut is: FORGIVE them. Celebrate & be glad when they come to you asking for forgiveness. Tell your mind that: My offender was dead in sin, now he is alive again in Christ. He or she was lost & is found. Heaven will also back you up in this celebration & rejoicing.The Bible says: There is more rejoicing in Heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous persons who do not want to repent. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, I thank you for Jesus. When Jesus was on the cross, He said: Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing. Help us to take after your nature & be forgiving. Fill us with your love. Remove shallow love from us; make us genuine people & enable us to love each other deeply. This is the kind of love that will enable us to forgive others easily. Fill us with your peace & joy. As you speak with your small, gentle, still voice to us today, enable us to hear your voice. Help us to take action & forgive. In Jesus mighty name we pray & believe, Amen.  Grace & peace be with you.
