Then he questioned Him with many words, He answered him nothing. (Luke 23:9). God wants us to be slow to speak & to be quick to listen. He wants us to open our mouths & speak only when necessary. When you speak, ask yourself: What am I going to achieve through this talk? If it's not going to accomplish something godly & positive; or if it will lead you to a dead end, why pursue it?  By way of testimony, i would like to thank God for giving me breakthrough in this area. I do not just speak for the sake of speaking; for the sake of just releasing words out of my mouth. I am slow to speak & quick to listen. I am a good listener. I think before i speak. I taste my words before i speak. I ask myself before i speak: Is this right, will it not offend the people? Does it gives grace to those who hear it? Does it edify, build, heal, encourage, comfort, strengthen others, etc? Does it glorify God & bring peace among the people? Everything that I say or do or think, I make sure that it is in agreement with the Word of God. Praise the Lord. In the university college of God, Jesus taught me the art of IGNORING. (see Mark 5:36). I do not just respond to any question. I discern the words, whether they bring glory to God, the speech is not careless or mocking  or an abuse. I also check whether we are not dealing with  emotions; whether there is no  trap. Sometimes, you have to ignore what people say & proceed to do the will of God. The daughter of the ruler of the synagogue had died. He sent messengers to tell Him not to come anymore. Jesus ignored what they said & proceeded to go to the house where the body was laid. He raised her from the dead to the amazement of the people & and the mockers. He said: Little girl, I say to you, arise & the girl arose & walked. Praise the Lord. If Jesus had not ignored those who had brought Him the message & the mockers who were ridiculous to Him at the house, this girl would not have been raised. But through the art of IGNORING, the will of God for the situation was accomplished. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, rebuke the spirit behind our talking too much. Help us not to talk carelessly. Help us us not to end up abusing others through the manner in which we talk. Teach us to serve our words before we speak. Teach us to do all things unto the glory of God. Your Word says: Be slow to speak, be quick to listen. Confirm this Scripture in our lives as your children.  Help us to speak the Word always & watch You honor Your Word. Thank you Jesus for hearing & answering my prayer. Despatch at your angels.
