But before all this, they will lay hands on you & persecute you. The will deliver you to synagogues & prisons, & you will be brought before kings & governors, & all on account of My name. This will result in your being witnesses to them. But make up your mind not to worry before hand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words & wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives, & friends, & they will put some of you to death. All men will hate you because of Me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm, you will gain life. (Luke 21:12-19). Jesus warned that in the coming persecutions, His followers would be betrayed by their family members & friends. Christians of every age have had to face this possibility.  It is reassuring to know that even when we feel completely abandoned, the Holy Spirit will stay with us. He will comfort us, protect us, & give us the words we need. However, to know the voice  of God, we must be developing an intimate relationship with Him daily. You will not hear from God if you do not meet Him in His Word daily. How can you be familiar with His voice & will if you do not hear His Word, read it, study it, digest it, hide it in your heart & obey it? Food for thought. This assurance that God will never forsake us, but will always be our Helper, can give us the courage & hope to stand firm for Christ no matter how difficult or risky the situation. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, guide our lives & our words in Jesus name. When we face persecutions, difficult situations, etc, remove fear & doubt from our lives, & give us the words to say by Your Spirit. Help us to live from a place of victory, bearing in mind that Jesus defeated satan on the cross more than 2000 years ago. So help us to live with this faith & conviction: No matter what happens to us; no matter what we go through, no matter how long it will take, at the end of it all, we WIN, we laugh last, we will have victory always & good success. Almighty God, we believe that You are always in control. It is impossible for You to lose control. We praise you highly. We magnify your name. Thank you Jesus for hearing & answering my prayer.
