If you remain in Me & my words remain in you, ASK whatever you wish, & it will be given you. (John 15:7). This verse shows us that prayer & the Word of God goes hand in hand. The two are inseparable. What is prayer? It is talking to God. It is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. What do we pray? God wants us to pray His will. Where do we find His will? His will is recorded in the Bible, the Word of God. To know the will of God for a given situation, we need to be having a Bible reading & meditation culture. Hear the Word, read it, study it, meditate on it, hide it in your heart & apply it to your life daily. If you do not study it devotionally, you will not know much about about the will of God. How do we read the Word of God? We read it devotionally, ie, with prayer. You ask the Lord to open your mind to understand the Scriptures. (Luke 24:45). If the Holy Spirit is not involved in your reading or study, you will not understand the Bible, you will not have clarity & balance.  This will affect your prayer life as well since we need to pray His will. Do not read the Bible like a novel. There is a danger here: You will know the stories recorded in the Bible, but you will not know the God behind those stories. Is there a kind of prayer that pleases God? Yes, the prayer of the upright pleases God. (Proverbs 15:8 b). God considers the PERSON who is praying as much as He does of the WORDS being said. Is there a kind of prayer that is detestable to God? Yes, if anyone turns a deaf ear to the law or the Word of God, even his or her prayers are detestable. (Proverbs 28:9). He will just be making a noise to God, nothing fruitful will come out of that. What makes our prayers powerful? Righteousness makes our prayers powerful & effective. The Bible says in James 5:16: The prayer of a righteous man is powerful & effective. How do we get this righteousness? Righteousness comes from God on the basis of our faith in Jesus Christ. God credits our faith as righteousness. This righteousness leads to holiness. Without holiness, no one will see the Lord. The Bible says: The righteous shall live by faith. We pray in faith. If you are an elder & you pray for the sick in faith, God will not only make the sick person well, He will forgive his sins as well. Faith connects us to God. Faith influences God to act.  Faith moves mountains. Prayer moves mountains. Without faith, we cannot receive anything from God. Faith is like the trading currency of the Kingdom of God. Without it, you cannot transact. If we obey God & His Word in total, if we make prayer our life, our lives can also become a prayer. I repeat: Make prayer your life & your life will become a prayer. Heaven will always back up your life & words. The Holy Spirit will align your life & words to the Word of God. Your righteous life will give your words greater impact resulting in: When you pray, things happen; there is greater impact.  When you speak, things happen, there is greater impact. What you say will be done. What you decide upon will be done. Real power, wisdom & revelation will be your portion. I trust the Lord that I have encouraged one or two on prayer. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father I thank you for Jesus. Thank you for hearing & answering my prayers. Thank you for answering them speedily. Teach us how to pray as your church. Give us a revelation of Yourself so that we will be able to pray Your will. Develop & strengthen our faith with your Word. Help us to live by faith & not by sight, senses, feelings, or logic.  Help us to live the Word, pray the Word, speak the Word, & abide in the Word. Make our prayers powerful & effective. In Jesus mighty name we pray & believe, Amen. Grace & peace be with you.
