It seemed good to the Holy Spirit & to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from meat of strangled animals & from sexual immorality.  You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell. (Acts 15:28-29). The above is the judgement made by the apostles, elders & the church council to accommodate the Gentiles who were turning to God. They agreed not to make it difficult for them & make them do that which is good to the Holy Spirit & to them. So they wrote a letter telling them to abstain from food  polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from meat of strangled animals & from blood. This was starting point for them. Many of us have made Christianity very complicated in the churches. We make it difficult for believers. The rules which we have put in place are a burden to the members in the church. Church, let us not complicate matters for those who are turning to Christ. Let us not complicate the process of one becoming a member of the church. Let us return to the BASICS as recorded in the Bible. The commands of God are not burdensome, why burden the people. (1 John 5:3). The process of being saved is very easy, why complicate matters? We are saved by grace through faith. Its all about the grace of God. All of us have a history of past failures & weaknesses, why complicate matters for others as if we were born being saints & without sin. It is only by the grace of God that we are what we are today. There is nothing that we have that did not come from God. Let us not burden those who have are turning to Christ. Even those who are already in the system, let us not burden them. Let us follow the Word of God always. The Word of God is very simple & guides us in the way everlasting. Let us be filled & led by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to change our lives & renew our minds. Our rules do not change people. We do not have the power to change people no matter what rules we put into effect for people to obey them. We need the Holy Spirit to change us. We need to submit 100% to the Bible. Let us present a simple Gospel. Make simple Word based teachings & simple prayers. This is what pleases the Holy Spirit not to complicate matters for the people. Church, let us return to the BASICS. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, help us not to burden your people in the churches. Help us not to complicate Christianity.  Help us us to always remember that we are sinners saved by grace. I pray that you help us to submit to Your Word & to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Your commands are not burdensome, the Bible says so. Help us to extend grace to people always. Give us the grace to do everything in love.
