Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). What did Paul mean when he said that our bodies belong to God? Many people say that they have a right to do whatever they want to do with their own bodies. Although they think that this is freedom, they are really enslaved to their own desires. When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit fills & lives in us. Therefore, we no longer own our bodies. Christ's death freed us from sin, but also obligates us to His service. If you live in a building owned by someone else, you try not to violate the building rules. Because your body belongs to God, you must not violate his standard for living. You must care for it both spiritually & physically. Spiritually, study the Word of God daily, meditate on it day & night, & put into practice what you learn from the Bible. Pray His will continually & in faith. Physically, let us eat well, keep our bodies clean, do exercise, rest, etc. It is important for us to be physically healthy so that we will live long & not being sickly Christians. We will carry the presence of God for many years, winning many people to Christ, & overcoming sin, satan & the world. God will be glorified. Our short life on earth will be fruitful. We will live for Christ. We will know Christ & will be known by Him also. We will be holy. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, help us to honor you with our bodies. Give us the grace to be devoted to prayer & to the Word of God. Fill us with your Holy Spirit. Help us to submit ourselves willingly to His leading. Remind us of the need to care for our bodies physically, so that we live healthy & carry your presence throughout our lives. Put your angels to action. In Jesus mighty name we pray & believe, Amen. God bless you all.
This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles. The Holy Spirit reminds us of Christ's words, activates our ...
