For this reason anyone who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret what he says. For if i pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind. If you are praising God with your spirit, how can one who finds himself among those who do not understand say Amen to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying? You may be giving thanks well enough, but the other man is not edified. I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue. (1 Corinthians 14:13-19). Tongues have two aspects - personal tongues & those for the church. PERSONAL ASPECT OF TONGUES: For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed noone understands him; he speaks mysteries with his spirit. He edifies himself. He should pray that he may interpret what he says. PUBLIC ASPECT OF TONGUES: These are tongues for the church. If anyone should speak in a tongue in the church, two or at most three - should speak, one at a time, & someone must intepret. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church & speak to himself & God. * In praying & singing, both the mind & the spirit are to be fully engaged. When we sing, we should also think deeply about the meaning of the words. True Christianity is neither barren intellectualism nor thoughtless emotionalism. Church is not entertainment, it is EQUIPPING. When people are equipped, they are released into the ministry, winning souls for God. I urge all Christians to learn to lead people to Christ, disciple them, until they are committed , dedicated, fruitful, mature Christians, who will repeat the same process with others. This is what equipping will lead to. It will produce spiritually qualified people in our churches who will help the pastors in growing the work of God. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, I thank you for Jesus. Thank you for your love, mercy, & grace. I pray for all Christians today. I believe that we are born to reproduce. Help us to witness the resurrection of Jesus Christ to others so that they will be saved & delivered as we are. Let the Kingdom of God enter into their hearts. Give us the grace to invest our Christian lives in the life of another. Open the doors for us so that we may take our one on one witnessing or evangelism to the remote parts of the earth. Work with us & confirm your Word with miracles, signs & wonders. Put your angels to action. Thank you Jesus for making me a wonder. In Jesus mighty name we pray, believe, & give you thanks, Amen. God bless you all.
This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles. The Holy Spirit reminds us of Christ's words, activates our ...
