So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ & as those entrusted with the secret things of God. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. ... It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring light to what is hidden in darkness & will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time, each will receive His praise from God. (1 Corinthians 4:1-2, 4 b -5). Paul urged the Corinthians to think of him, Peter & Apollos not as leaders of factions, but as servants of Christ entrusted with the secret things of God. A servant does what his master tells him to do. We must do what God tells us to do in the Bible through His Holy Spirit. It is tempting to judge fellow Christians, evaluating whether or not they are good followers of Christ. But only God knows a person's heart, & He is the only One with the right to judge. His judgement is righteous. Paul's warning to the Corinthians should also warn us. We are to confront those who are sinning, but we must not judge a better servant for Christ. When you judge someone you invariably consider yourself better - & that is arrogant. Food for thought. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, I thank you for Jesus. Thank you for your mercy & grace. The church is grossly divided today because of people & churches judging one another. I rebuke the spirit behind this situation in Jesus name. Lord Jesus, set your people free. Make us humble. Help us to regard others as better than ourselves. Put your angels to action. Help us to realize that our judgement is not righteous because we do the same things that we judge others. Help us to restore one another in the spirit of gentleness rather than being unrighteous judges. In Jesus name we pray & believe, Amen. God bless you all.
