If some of the branches have been broken off, & you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others & now sharing in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not boast over those branches. If you do consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then: Branches were broken off so that i could be grafted in. Verse 25-26 reads: I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved as it is written: The Deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. This is my covenant with them when I take away their sins. (Romans 11: 17-19; 25- 26). Speaking to Gentile Christans, Paul wants them not to feel superior because God rejected some Jews. Abraham's faith is like the root of a productive tree & the Jewish people are the tree's natural branches. Because of faithlessness, the Jews were the broken branches. Gentile Christians have been grafted into the tree like a wild olive shoot. Both Jews & Gentiles share the tree's nourishment based on faith in God; neither can rest on heritage or culture for salvation. Also note from the Scriptures that God has allowed Israel to experience a partial hardening until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. The Bible says: All Israel will be saved. How much is all? All is all. This means that the majority of the Jews in the final generation before Christ's return will turn to Christ for salvation. Their current faithlessness is an opportunity for us, the Gentiles, to come in. The Bible says: God has a certain number of Gentiles that He wants in. So, let us strive to be among that number. Do not play church. Do not play with God & neglect His salvation. You will not escape if you do so. Convert to Christ. Be filled & led by the Holy Spirit. Live by faith in Jesus Christ & not by sight. Read or study the Word of God daily. Hide it in your heart so that you will not sin against God. Meditate on it so that you will be successful & prosperous. Put into practice what you learn from the Bible. Pray continually. Live a life of holiness. Deal with sin head on when it comes. Always turn away from sin & turn to Christ. This way, your faith will be developed & continue to be strengthened. You will live a fruitful Christian life. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, thank you for saving our souls. Thank you for breaking some of the branches so that we, the Gentiles, the wild olive shoot, could be grafted in with the Jews, the natural branches. You have made us come in because of a partial hardening that you allowed Israel to experience. This is the evidence of your grace. You have made us royal & given us the right to be your children. Do not allow us to be proud. Help us not to be found judging Israel. Remove pride from our lives. The Bible says: God opposes the proud & gives grace to the humble. Make us humble, loving, forgiving, faithful & Word based. Give us the grace to be devoted to prayer & the ministry of the Word. Help us to live holy lives. Help us to live by faith, & to speak it. In Jesus mighty name we pray, believe, & give you thanks, Amen. God bless you all.
This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles. The Holy Spirit reminds us of Christ's words, activates our ...
