To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me: My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:7-9). We don't know what Paul's thorn in the flesh was, because he doesn't tell us. It was a chronic & debilitating problem. This thorn was a hindrance to his ministry,  & he prayed for its removal, but God refused.  This thorn kept Paul humble, reminded him of his need for constant contact with God, & benefitted those around him as they saw God at work in his life. God did not want Paul to be proud because of the surpassingly great revelations he had given him. So he allowed this thorn in the flesh to come to him, but kept His grace with him. Nothing would stop Paul from doing God's work because of the grace of God with him. He had to be weak so that God's power was made perfect in him. As he was weak in the body, he was strong spiritually.  Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, I pray that you remove every thorn in my flesh, not my will but yours be done. In a case where you are not willing to remove it, let your grace be sufficient for us. Fill us with your surpassing grace & surpassingly great revelations. Thank you Jesus for your mercy & grace. In Jesus mighty name we pray, believe & give you thanks, Amen.  God bless you all.
