Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. (Colossians 4:5-6). We should be wise in our contacts with non-Christians, outsiders, etc, making the most of our opportunities to tell them the Good News of salvation. When we tell others about Christ, it is important always to be gracious in what we say. No matter how much sense the message makes, we lose our effectiveness if we are not courteous. Just as we like to be respected, we must respect others if we want them to listen to what we have to say. Seasoned with salt means that what we say should be tasty & should encourage further dialogue. Let us speak words which are full of faith & grace, words which heal, edify, build, encourage, strengthen, comfort, etc. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, help us to deal with wisdom, mercy & grace as we deal with non-Christians. Help us to speak the Gospel & not more about our denominational churches & what happens there. Your Word is truth. It is God speaking to us. Help us to speak it, abide in it, meditate on it & obey its principles. Thank you Father for hearing & answering my prayer. God bless you all.
This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds & write them on their hearts. I will be their God, & they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying: Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. (Hebrews 8:10-11). If our hearts are not changed, following God's rules will be unpleasant & difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live the Christian way. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us wanting to obey God. With new hearts, hearts of flesh & not hearts of stone, we will find that serving God is our greatest joy. Under God's new covenant, God's law is inside us & not outside, ie, on a tablet of stone. No, it's written in our hearts. It is no longer an external set of rules & principles.
