Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in Heaven. So when you give to the NEEDY, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues & on the streets to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. (Mathew 6:1-4).  What really will we be doing when we give our gifts to the poor, needy, orphans & widows? We will be showing them God's love. We will be putting a smile on their faces. We will be showing them that God CARES & that we as His children & servants also do care. How do we give to the poor & needy? We give our gifts to them in love, in humility, in simplicity & for the glory of God. Give also without discrimination. God does not discriminate us. His rain falls both on the land of the wicked person & righteous. So we give to the poor & needy without discrimination. Does God give us a reward for giving to the poor & needy? Yes, the Bible says: He who is kind to the poor LENDS to the Lord & He will reward him for what he has done. (Proverbs 19:17). He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses. (Proverbs 28:27). Church, did you know that by not helping the poor when its within your means to do so that you are attracting many curses in your life? This shows that God expects us to give to the poor & needy & that He is serious about it & will reward the giver for acting in accordance with His Word. When we give, He MULTIPLIES our gifts back to us. He doesn't add, He multiplies. Let us go on to tithes & offerings: Giving of our tithes & offering is an act of worship. God wants us to give Him the tenth part of our income, livestock, grain, etc, etc. As for offerings, these are freewill. We give according to how we would have been blessed that week. We give them freely, willingly, cheerfully & not under compulsion. When we give our tithes, God promises to open the windows of Heaven for us & pour out blessings that we will not have room to contain. Note : These blessings do not relate to money only, but everything pertaining to your life, eg, good health, children being married, finding jobs, family doing well in all aspects of life. You will have more than enough blessings. He will rebuke the devourer, so your wealth will maintain value. It will not diminish in times of recession, economic shocks & runaway inflation. Why? Because God, who is our SOURCE of everything is managing it. He is supernatural & unlimited. He is not limited by the economic performance of your nation. The silver & gold is His. The earth & all it contains is His. He can make silver & gold as common as the stones in your ministry. He is a God of more than enough. This is the God who is saying to you: Give me your tenth part of your income, or wealth & I will bless you with more. Your money will be secured & not touched by the devil. When you give your tithes, God will make you a delightful land. How do you give your tithes? The Bible says: You give them in the attitude of justice, mercy & faithfulness. (Mathew 23:23). Where do you send your tithes to? At the church where you fellowship. That is where you belong. Your tithes will be used to meet the administrative expenses there & for the extension of the Kingdom of God. I do not agree to the sending of tithes to supporting ministries like the one I am into. I say NO to that. Give them to your church where you fellowship. How do you run the supporting ministry then? After you have given your tithes first to your church, if you still feel that you want to sow in this ministry, you can send a DONATION of any amount you like to this ministry. We run the ministry on donations & self reliant projects. Is there any ground that is recommended for sowing? Yes, you sow your donations on good ground. The Bible says: Be as wise as a serpent & as innocent as a dove. (Mathew 10: 16). If you sow on the TARRED road, would you expect to reap a harvest? Here you are, you need to be DISCERNING. How do you discern? You weigh everything that you see, or do, or say or think in the light of the Word of God. Search the Scriptures to find out whether what is happening there is Biblical. This is how you test the soil or ground whether it is good or not. Prayer: Thank you Father for giving us a revelation on matters of giving to the poor & needy &  the giving of our tithes & offerings.  Help us to give in a manner that is Word based so that we will receive the full blessings as you promised us. As we have prayed, put your angels to action. Thank you Jesus for hearing & answering my prayer.
