Jesus went through all the towns & villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom & healing every disease & sickness. When He saw the crowds, He had COMPASSION on them, because they were HARASSED & HELPLESS like sheep without a shepherd. (Mathew 9:35-36). Jesus saw people being harassed & helpless like sheep without a shepherd. What is a shepherd? A shepherd in the church context is a pastor. He or she shepherds the flock. The pastors primary task is to CARE for the flock. If pastors were appointed to care for the flock, how come Jesus saw the flock being harassed & helpless like sheep without a shepherd? They were there doing their own thing & not God's work. We do God's work His way, according to His will & not our way. We have a similar situation in today's church. We have people who are pastors in the OFFICE & not pastors in the HEART. They are doing God's work out of duty, as some form of gainful employment & not as a calling to the pastoral ministry. They lean on their own understanding, use logic in making decisions & do not avail themselves to the leadings & promptings of the Holy Spirit. The flock is being harassed & helpless in their very own eyes & they do nothing about, but they want money from them. All they worry about are money issues. Lord Jesus, help us as your church. What does the Bible say about this situation? WOE to the shepherds of Israel who take care of THEMSELVES.  Should not shepherds take care of the flock? You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with wool, & slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bandage up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them HARSHLY & BRUTALLY. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, & when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. My sheep wandered over all the mountains & on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, & no one searched & looked for them. (Ezekiel 34:2b -6). Therefore, you shepherds, hear the Word of the Lord: As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, because my flock lacks a shepherd & so has been plundered & has become food for all the wild animals, & because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock, therefore, O shepherds, hear the Word of the Lord. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am AGAINST the shepherds & will hold them ACCOUNTABLE  for my flock. I will REMOVE them from tending the flock so that the shepherds  can no longer feed themselves. I will RESCUE my flock from their mouths, & it will no longer be food for them. For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep & look after them. (Ezekiel 34:7-11). Pastors, you can read the whole chapter prayerfully. If you find yourself having missed the mark, do not condemn yourself.  Jesus loves you. I love you as well. Simply correct your mistake with the help of the Holy Spirit & lead a CHANGED life unto the glory of God. To those who are still stubborn even after this, be WARNED. God will confirm His Word in your life if you continue to play games with Him & neglecting His flock. I respect all ministers of the Gospel that is why I have made few comments & let the Scriptures minister to you direct. I end by saying: Let us be pastors in the HEART & not pastors in the OFFICE. I love you all & am believing God that you will respond to the Word of God for you & CARE for the flock. Caring is your primary assignment. Prayer: Father, I intercede for all the pastors worldwide. Most of them have lost direction. They are now prioritizing their own comfort while neglecting the flock. Have mercy on them Father. Forgive them their sins for they do not know what they are doing. Wash them by the blood of Jesus. Purify them from all unrighteousness.  I am fully convinced that you are faithful & just to forgive them their sins. Restore them. Make them pastors in the HEART & not merely pastors in the OFFICE. I plead the blood of Jesus upon their lives. Thank you Jesus for hearing & answering my prayer.
