With that, one of Jesus' companions reached for his sword, drew it out & struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear. Put your sword back in its place, Jesus said to him:  for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.(Mathew 26:51-52). The man who cut off the servant's ear was Peter. (see John 18:10). Peter was trying to prevent what he saw as defeat. He didn't realize that Jesus had to die in order for us to gain victory over our situations & circumstances. He had to die in order for  sin in our our lives to be removed & for the second death to lose its sting upon us. But Jesus demonstrated perfect commitment  to His Father's will. His Kingdom would not be advanced with swords, but with faith & obedience. Peter was fighting a wrong battle. The war Jesus was fighting was against sin & death. It wasn't a physical war but a spiritual war. Peter did not understand this. Some Christians today are  fighting battles in the natural like Peter. They fight & mock the people. Church, let us not do that. The Bible says: Those who draw the sword will die by the sword. What you are doing to others will be done to you one day. It will be worse than what you have done. Our war is not against human beings but evil spirits.  Our weapons are not carnal: eg, physical fighting, mocking, use of abusive speech & the like. No, not at all brethren.You are fighting a wrong battle. Satan is the one who is behind these actions & not God. The Word of God is our spiritual weapon.  Use it. Quote the Word which you believe into the situation & it will be perfectly calm. You will WIN. Prayer is one of our spiritual weapons. Pray His will in faith. Faith overcomes sin, satan & the world. Faith extinguishes all the fiery arrows of the evil one. Note that our God is a God of justice. Justice delayed is not justice denied. One day it will be meted out to you. The reaping will be in MULTIPLICATION.  God will hold us accountable one day. I urge you to make peace with God & man today. Better lose an argument & win a soul, than to win an argument & lose a soul. Be loving, humble, forgiving & gentle. This is what God wants. Do not fight carnally, i beg you church. You will be walking in the FLESH if you do so. God commands us to walk by the SPIRIT. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, I come against this spirit that is causing the brethren to fight physically & to take the matters into their own hands when under challenge. You spirit, I rebuke you in Jesus name. Release your hold on God's people in Jesus name. Hush, be still, in Jesus name. I pray that you remove divisions in the church & bring about unity of the Spirit & peace. Fill us with your love, peace & joy. In Jesus mighty name we pray, & believe, Amen.  Peace be with you.
