Yet the news about Him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear Him & to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places & prayed. (Luke 5:15-16). People were flocking to hear Jesus preach & to have their diseases healed, but Jesus made sure He often withdrew to quiet, solitary places to pray. Many things clamor for our attention, & we often run ourselves ragged attending to them. Like Jesus, however, we should take time to withdraw to a quiet & deserted place to pray. Strength comes from God, & we can only be strengthened  by spending time with Him. Let us meet Him in His Word daily. Jesus is the living Word, & the Bible is the written Word. Let us obey God & His Word in total for our prayers not to be detestable before God. The Bible says: If anyone turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayers are detestable. (see Proverbs 28:9). Church, this is serious. We know that many of us Christians of today are not obeying God & His Word consistently. Genuine love for God & love for one another is absent from our Christian lives. It is the MISSING ingredient in today's church. There is no fruit of the Spirit in the lives of many Christians. There is no fruit of righteousness in the lives of many Christians. People are no longer repenting, they just transfer what they have been doing in the world to the church. If say, he or she was a prostitute in the world, she will commit sexual immorality in the church. This is why there is now more of the world in the church today than the church in the world. This is the state of the church today. We pray a lot, do all night prayers against this background. There are no answers to our prayers according to the Bible. Our lives remain unchanged. There is no impact. Why? The Bible says: If anyone turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayers are detestable. (see Proverbs 28:9). His or her prayers are an abomination to God. Your sin has made a separation between you & God, so you are not connected to God. What are we doing then? We are just making noise to God in most cases, busy entertaining ourselves, but with no real breakthrough in sight. Why? Because we are praying against a background of being DISOBEDIENT to God. Many Christians are in this state; their prayers, I am sorry to say this: are an abomination before God. They are detestable to Him. What shall we do then? Repent, make peace with God & you will have a fruitful prayer life. You will live a changed life. You will have a renewed mind. Your prayers will be pleasing to God. God takes delight in the prayer of the upright.  (see Proverbs 15:8 b). Food for thought.  Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, thank you for this revelation. Give us the grace to be true to You. Make your church righteous, holy, pure. Fill your church with love, joy & peace. Anoint your church with fresh oil. Rekindle the gifts of the Spirit in operation in your church. Let the revival in the church gather momentum. Thank you Jesus for hearing & answering my prayer.
