I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33). What an awesome promise. Jesus summed up all He had told them this night, tying together themes from John 14:27-29, John 16:1-4 & John 16:9-11. With these words, He told His disciples to take courage. In spite of the inevitable struggles they would face, they would not be alone. Jesus does not abandon us to our struggles either. He knows no failure.  He knows no defeat. He changes not. If we allow Him to be truly Lord & Saviour of our lives, we will always win; we will always thrive in the face of opposition. If we remember that the ultimate victory has already been won, we can claim the peace of Christ in the most troublesome times. We will have peace & joy in the midst of storms. His grace will always prove to be sufficient for us. Jesus said: Take heart! I have overcome the world. What did He meant by making this statement. He meant that we must always be at peace because He has defeated satan, sin & death. There is nothing that satan can do to us to overturn that result. It's final & irreversible.  Satan is a defeated foe. I refer to him as a small boy based on my relationship with Christ. Let me give you a practical example: I watch soccer on television: In the English premier league there is Manchester City & Nottingham Forest. If these two teams play together & Nottingham Forest loses by two goals to one. If the game is been screened again on television & Nottingham Forest scores first. It doesnt change the result. The game was played already. After sometime Manchester City will level the scores & later on score the winning goal. This is the same with the war between Jesus & satan. Satan was defeated at the cross. If you lose a battle it won't change the result. This is the result as i think: Jesus 90%, satan 10%. Yes, you may have lost a battle but you have not lost the war. In the war Jesus won. All you need to do is to remain at peace & see Jesus gaining ground, darkness falling on the whole place for hours, the temple curtain splitting from top to bottom, Jesus giving up His Spirit. He didn't die like we do, He gave His Father His spirit. God raising Jesus Christ from dead. This is the full game. When you lose a battle do not panic. A righteous man falls seven times & rises again. Repent, make peace with God & continue your humble walk with Him. Fear not, only believe. You will laugh last. Your breakthrough will come. Your blessing will come. The enemy will eat his words. I trust that I have encouraged one or two today. Thank you Jesus. Good morning Holy Spirit. Prayer: Thank you Father for giving us victory always through Jesus Christ. Thank you for making us overwhelming conquerors through Christ who loved us. Thank you for defeating satan, sin & death. Thank you for giving us an assurance of victory & forgiveness in this spiritual war against sin & death. Thank you for making us fight a good fight of faith, obedience & prayer. Thank you for making us Word based. Thank you for making me a moving Bible. Thank you for assigning your angels to minister to our needs. Thank you for hearing & answering all my prayers. Thank you for honoring our faith. In Jesus mighty name we pray, believe  & give you thanks, Amen. Grace & peace be with you.
